The host kicked me out of the game
You had a spot. The host unbooked you. You get a push, your spot is gone, and you’re wondering: what now? And what did I do?
The short version: you’re out of that game, any online money you’d put up comes back, and nothing else about your Furbol life changes. No rating hit, no cooldown, no mark on your profile.
How you find out
You get a push. The wording is something like:
“[host nickname] removed [your nickname] from the game ([N] spots left).”
The game’s activity log gets a line showing the same thing — host removed player — so the other people in the game see it too.
The host doesn’t pick a reason, and Furbol doesn’t ask for one. So neither you nor anyone else sees a justification. The host just had the option to unbook you, and they used it.
Why a host might do this
Common cases:
- They’re clearing room for someone specific.
- The lineup doesn’t work for them — wrong position, team imbalance, a friend they’d rather have in.
- There’s a personal issue between you and the host.
- It was a mistake — they meant to remove someone else.
Because there’s no “reason” recorded, you’ll have to ask the host directly if you want to know. Furbol doesn’t mediate this.
What it costs you
Very little:
- Online-paid games. Your wallet hold releases. You’re refunded the same way as if you’d left on your own or if the game had been cancelled.
- Cash games. Nothing to refund on Furbol’s side.
- Rating and reputation. Untouched. “Removed by host” isn’t a stat Furbol tracks against you, and it doesn’t surface on your profile.
- Same-day plans. If this game was holding a same-day lock for you, the lock lifts — other same-day games you were interested in become bookable again.
- Future games with the same host. No automatic ban. You can book into another of their games right away unless they blacklist you, which is a separate, explicit action.
What if the removal drops the game below minimum?
If you were one of the last players keeping the game above quorum, the game may now be below minimum — but that alone doesn’t cancel it. The game still has until the last hour to fill back up. If it doesn’t, it’ll auto-cancel at that point (see the game I booked didn’t hit quorum) — but that’s Furbol’s problem at that point, not yours, since you’re already out.
What you can do
- Ask the host, if you want. Tap through to their profile or message them on the game if the game still has a message surface you can see.
- Book another game. Nothing stops you from joining a different game for the same day, since your same-day lock has lifted.
- If this keeps happening with the same host, you can blacklist them to stop seeing their games.
When it’s not the host removing you
Other people can remove you too, depending on who booked your spot. If a friend booked you as their follower or guest, they can unbook you the same way — same push, same effects on your money and your day, just a different name in the notification. See Being Removed from a Game for the full list of who can remove whom.
