The Last Hour
The last hour is the hour before kick-off. Rules change in this window because the game either finalises or falls apart.
Three things happen at the start of the last hour:
1. If the game hasn’t hit quorum, it’s cancelled
Any game that hasn’t reached quorum by the start of the last hour is cancelled automatically. Everyone is refunded on their pending fees for online-paid games.
The host can opt out of this auto-cancel by setting the game to game on, no matter what. In that mode, the game happens regardless of the number of players.
2. If you haven’t confirmed, you’re released
Any player who hasn’t confirmed their attendance at the start of the last hour is released from the game. Their spot is freed up for someone else.
3. Late bookings count as confirmations
If you save a spot during the last hour, Furbol treats that as confirming. You’re clearly committing to turn up, so there’s no ambiguity.
A nuance for “game on, no matter what” mode
Once the game is in game on, no matter what mode and past the initial last-hour cut, Furbol does not re-cancel it if the number of confirmed players drops again. Unconfirmed players aren’t cleared a second time just because numbers dipped again.
