Nickname
Nickname
Your nickname is the name other players see for you across Furbol — on game rosters, chat messages, profile screens, host lists.
The rules
- Up to 9 characters. Short and readable at a glance on small screens.
- Unique. No two Furbol users share the same nickname.
- Optional for guests. Guests placed by a friend don’t need a nickname of their own — they appear under the friend who booked them.
You can change your nickname from your profile settings at any time, as long as the new one is still under the length limit and not already taken.
The name in your phone’s contacts
You might know a player by a different name than their nickname — “Anna Galvan” in your phone’s contacts might be ANITA23 on Furbol. When someone is saved in your contacts, Furbol shows both: the nickname always comes first, and the name you saved them under appears to its right, behind a small phone icon. On their profile, that saved name gets its own Phonebook row. It never replaces the nickname — and only you see it, because it comes from your own contacts.
Searching works with either name: type the name you saved them under and Furbol still finds them, even though what’s shown is their nickname.
