A Game
A Game
Everything on Furbol happens around a game — a specific football match, at a specific time, at a specific pitch. A host creates it. Players join.
Most games are created on Furbol by a host. A few come from partner platforms Furbol syncs with — pitch-booking apps like Alquila tu cancha or Quiero Jugar in LatAm. Furbol surfaces the open slots from those apps so a player can take over — book the slot on the partner and step in as the Furbol host. See Games from partner platforms.
Three visibility options
When setting up the game, the host picks one of three visibilities:
- Public. Anyone on Furbol can see the game and join.
- Private. Anyone can see the game, but only invited players can actually join.
- Secret. Only invited players can even see the game. It’s hidden from everyone else.
The phases of a game
A game moves through four phases, in order:
- Upcoming — the host has just published it. Players can join.
- Playing — kick-off has happened.
- Played — the game is over. Time to vote on your teammates.
- Cancelled — for one reason or another, the game didn’t happen.
While a game is upcoming
During the upcoming phase, three things are worth tracking:
- Quorum — the minimum number of players the game needs to go ahead. The moment the game reaches it, the game has hit quorum — it’s on.
- Sold out — the game has reached its maximum. No more spots.
- The last hour — the final hour before kick-off. This is where the game either finalises or falls apart.
If the game hasn’t hit quorum by the time the last hour starts, Furbol cancels it — unless the host chose “game on, no matter what”, in which case the game happens regardless of numbers.
