The Side Menu

The Side Menu

The side menu is the drawer you pull out by tapping your avatar in the top-left of the home screen. From anywhere in the app, it’s one tap away.

Most of the time you open it for one of two reasons: to glance at your wallet balance, or to jump into a game you’re hosting or have booked. Once in a while you open it to edit your profile, start a new game, or cancel all your bookings in a single tap. Everything else on it is rarely-touched stuff that’d be wasted real estate on the main screen.

Your profile and QR, at the very top

Your avatar sits on the left — tap it and your own profile opens, same as anywhere else in Furbol. On the right is your personal QR code. Tap that and a magic-link screen opens, where you can download or share a ready-made image with your link and QR. Someone who scans it lands on your profile on their phone, and Furbol pops a “follow this dude?” prompt at them.

Three rows about you

Below the header, three rows where “you” lives:

  • Edit account opens the account editor — where nicknames, avatars, privacy switches and all your settings are.
  • Wallet shows your current balance right on the row, so you don’t even need to open it to check. Tap to open the wallet properly.
  • Contacts shows how many people from your phone’s address book are on Furbol, and jumps you to the Contacts tab of the home screen.

A scorecard of your games

Further down, the menu’s most interesting part: a little scoreboard of where you stand across games.

  • Booked games — upcoming games you’ve grabbed a spot in.
  • Booked friends — upcoming games where you placed someone else, a follower or a guest.
  • Played games — your history of games you actually showed up for.
  • Hosted games — past games you ran.
  • Hosting games — games you’re running right now (upcoming).
  • Last game — your most recent played game, with its rating next to it once the feedback window has closed. Tap to open it.

Any row sitting at zero is greyed out — there’s nothing on the other side to show, so tapping doesn’t do anything.

The two “do it right now” shortcuts

Below the scorecard, two shortcuts that only appear when they’re relevant:

  • Start a game jumps you into creating a new game. Furbol pre-fills the form from your last hosted game if you have one — so duplicating a weekly session is a couple of taps.
  • Cancel all bookings only appears when you’ve actually got upcoming bookings. One tap pulls you out of all of them.

Both are hidden if your account is in read-only mode.

Near the bottom are the things that live around Furbol but not in it:

  • FAQ opens in an in-app browser.
  • WhatsApp opens a chat with Furbol support.
  • Reddit opens the Furbol community.
  • Terms & Privacy and About are the small-print pages, also in an in-app browser.

On a debug build of the app (not the version you get from the App Store or Play Store), a small red “For QA only” link sits at the very bottom for the dev team’s internal test screen. You won’t see it on a normal install.

What’s not in the side menu

A few things you might expect to find here but which live elsewhere:

  • Notifications settings are on your profile, not here. See Notification Preferences.
  • Language and currency are in the account editor.
  • Blacklist management happens from the specific player, venue, or host you want to blacklist — not a central list. See Blacklisting.
  • Log out and Delete account are at the bottom of the account editor. See Account States.
